We decided to find out from our experts and mechanics what most often breaks down in a car. And also give advice on how to care for it in order to push back serious repairs as far as possible.

There are three vital systems in an engine:

  • Lubrication system
  • Fuel system
  • Air supply system

The lubrication system – most modern engines are afraid of traffic jams. In a traffic jam, the car is idling.
Because of this, the oil pressure in the engine is minimal, it runs “dry” and at the moment when we need to start moving, it receives a significant load.
It is not difficult to avoid a breakdown: it is enough to periodically drive out onto free roads and let the car “roam around”.
Also, to maintain the performance of the system, it is necessary to change the engine oil in a timely manner. Usually this is done every 7000 km.

The fuel system is the “circulatory” system of the car. In the event of a malfunction in its operation, the engine may give floating speed or not start at all. Therefore, do not forget to flush it and change the fuel filter every 30,000 km.

Finally, pay attention to the air supply system. After all, air is the basis of the engine. Based on its volume, the car’s systems calculate how much fuel is needed for a certain mileage. Therefore, by the way, the consumption of gasoline on the highway is less than in the city. There is freer, more air, the car moves faster.
